Game Writing
Narrative Design
The real challenge here is not talking about all the cool stuff I got to do! Since the game hasn’t released yet, I can’t go into detail about my work on the project, but I can hit the highlights.
Rockbeasts is a story-driven, roleplaying management game where you play a music manager in the 90s whose job is to take a band of misfits and turn them into rock stars. In the age of MTV and rock anthems, you’ll encounter colorful personalities and make choices with loud consequences.
My time on the game saw me design dozens of quests, write for a host of complex characters, intersect side stories with core gameplay mechanics, and so much more. I even got to supervise some of the recording sessions with our incredibly talented voice over artists and listen to them make my words sing.
Rockbeasts is a one-of-a-kind story-driven game and I was fortunate enough to work within a very small writing team to help bring it to life. Collaborating across disciplines, this role stretched my abilities and taught me a ton about narrative design and game writing.
I’m so proud the whole team’s work and can’t wait to share more of it in the months to come.
